About FWRDC

Fountain Warren Regional Dispatch Center began as Fountain County Dispatch in 1995 with Fountain County, Warren County and the City of Attica joining together to establish a central communications center pursuant to Indiana Code 36-8-16, the Enhanced Emergency Telephone System. The 911 center was located in the Attica City Building with the Attica Police Department. A joint board was created known as the Governing Board as provided in Indiana Code 36-1-7 and IAW 240 IAC 5-2-10, comprised of nine voting members. The purpose of the board is to manage and supervise the dispatch center with the assistance and guidance of the 911 Director. In December of 2013 the Fountain County Commissioners and the Warren County Commissioners revised the previous agreement adjusting the name of the center to Fountain Warren Regional Dispatch Center and made a few changes to the members of the 911 Board. The 911 Board still has nine voting members.

On July 30, 2014 Fountain Warren Regional Dispatch Center moved to the Fountain County courthouse. This was a huge move for us and it took A LOT of planning. On the day of the move we started early in the morning and worked late into the night to get everything situated and make sure everything was working properly. All the while the dispatchers dispatched emergencies and answered 911 calls. Many of you didn't even realize anything was different. That was a stressful day.

All dispatch personnel are certified in the Basic Telecommunicator Course, Emergency Medical Dispatch Course, CPR, Automatic External Defibrillator, the Indiana Data and Communications System (IDACS/NCIC), and complete NIMS/ICS training.
